Locals slam orientation camps by petro-chemical region panel

The orientation programmes being conducted by the officials of the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (VK-PCPIR) Special Development Authority (SDA) for representatives of local bodies falling under the proposed PCPIR have the people of the region up in arms as they suspect them to be nothing but public hearings for the project.
The VK-PCPIR SDA held orientation camps at the mandal level to educate the representatives of the local bodies falling under the 610 sq km area of the proposed project in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts on October 24 and October 25.
