Consumers Guidance Society, Vijaywada Organised Investors Awareness and Empowerment Workshop
At Hotel Anand Regency, Rajahmundry on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 8.30 PM CGS, Vijayawada has organised a very useful workshop for investors under the guidance and sponsoring of Securities and Exchange Board of India.
The welcome address has been given by N.Rangababu, English Lecturer in Lyola College, Vijayawada.
Dr.Ch.Divakar Babu, Secretary, Consumers' Guidance Society, Vijayawada has addressed the audience and given brief introduction to what CGS, Vijayawada is doing and its efforts to educate people. The present workshop is part of series of workshops they have organized in different places in Andhra Pradesh to create awareness for investors ( particularly retail investors). In recent times CGS, Vijayawada has been known to be key organisation playing crucial role in arresting the MD of Amway India under the act of money circulation schemes. CGS, Vijayawada is one of the active consumer protection societies known for their sustained and fruitful activities. The present workshop is targeted to gather retail investors and educate and prevent them from falling prey to finance frauds done by corporate bodies under many disguises.
Mr.D.Venkat, Assistant Manager, SEBI, Hyderabad has provided valuable insights in dos and don'ts that have to be followed by retail investors.He also explained ways to safeguard from unnecessary signing documents that financial services companies.
Mr.Sivaprasad V, Manager, Business Development, Central Depository Services (India) Ltd, Hyderabad has elaborately explained about recent updates and happening in demat, depository services. Not only that he has answered many questions asked by audience and shed light on issues that a retail investor faces in day to day investment activities.
Mr.Vinayak, G.S., Assistant Manager, NSEI, Hyderabad has addressed his speech in finer issues of investment, advancement in services offered by NSEI. He has provided many resources that can help for the beginner and advanced investor.
All the lectures given by resource persons were accompanied by powerpoint presentations displaying many web resources. Attendees were provided useful print sheets, booklets published NSEI, CGI (Vijayawada) The workshop has been sponsored by SEBI, Hyderabad.
