Pushkaralu to be held at eight places | EEROJU

Adilabad: Godavari Pushkaralu, the river fete, will be conducted at eight places in Adilabad district from July 14-25, next year. Minister for forests and environment Jogu Ramanna, on Tuesday, held a meeting with officials concerned at Basar and discussed the necessary arrangements to be made for the river fete. The minister said tha the chief minister was displaying keen interest in making Godavari Pushkaralu a grand success and that there was no dearth of funds for it.
He instructed officials concerned to prepare the estimates of required funds to create all facilities for the convenience of pilgrims who would visit the district for Pushkaralu.Mr Jogu Ramanna asked the officials to go for double-laning of all roads leading to the Pushkar ghats at the selected venues. He also asked them to ensure smooth flow of traffic apart from maintaining law and order during the 12-day event.
DRDA project director Venkateshwar Reddy has been appointed as special officer for conducting Pushkaralu in the district. Pushkaralu will be held at Soan, Nirmal, Basar, Khanapur, Gudem, Mancherial, Velal and Chennur. MLAs Rekha Naik, Vittal Reddy and ZP chairperson V. Sobha Rani, collector M. Jagan Mohan and others attended the meeting.
